The movie Titanic has brought forth a lovely piece of art. The jewelry or the necklace worn by Kate Winslet at the 1997 movie has become one of the most general piece of jewelry in the world. History has proven to us that Kate Florence, a survivor of the tragedy, has that same necklace worn on her neck for the duration of the trip.

The Heart of the Ocean or more appropriately known as the Titanic necklace was introduced for the duration of the film and was given as a gift. It was supposed to be a replicate of the Hope Diamond which in fact has never been brought to sea.

And it was Kate Florence who had the same necklace on her while she was onboard the Titanic. It was a gift from her lover for their marriage. Her husband, Samuel Morley, unluckily did not survive the tragedy. The necklace may now be seen on dissimilar Titanic exhibits all over the world.

The 1943 version of the movie Titanic also had a blue diamond necklace but there was another version of how the story was told. The necklace was thought to be missing in the movie and was the cause of quarrel among the two lovers.

There are a lot of variations to that same piece of jewelry today. Some for less made replicas are made as keepsakes for Titanic museums. Some try to combine the design with other well known pendants.

During the filming of the movie, a London based jeweler was asked to formulate the piece of jewelry for in regards to $10,000. But the real Titanic necklace costs up to $3.5 million right after the movie was released. It was then auctioned to gain an AIDS charity and was later worn by widely known and esteemed singer Celine Dion.

Harry Winston made a $20 million Heart of the Ocean necklace for Gloria Stuart for her to wear at the Academy Awards which continued the outstanding tradition of the necklace.

As we all know from the movie, the Heart of the Ocean necklace was not a mere piece of jewelry but it was a symbol of true and everlasting love. The necklace brought us back to how everything started.

Season 2: The wig pull heard ’round the world!

I commend purchasing season 2 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. This version of the empire is the most fun to watch in my sentiment because the ladies are much more sassy and say the funniest things.

This season we see the gals undertake and patch up their relationships after various fights at the season one reunion show. Lisa and Kim undertake to repair fences, as do Nene and Kim as well. There is likewise the new addition of Kandi Burress, (ex fellow member of Xscape) who is smart, sophisticated and ready to hit the world with her new solo project.

Kim and Kandi also get into Kim’s music “career” with the launch of “Tardy for the Party”…Nene’s none too pleased as she thought she would be singing on the song as well. (Surprise, Nene!)

My favored scene is when Sheree Whitfield goes to her party planner and they get into a fight. “Who gon’ check me boo?”

If you are a fan of the show, you will not be disappointed!
